offlineMemberI met my ex on Monday 16th of February 2009. I remember this day because it was the first day at my new Internship and I was really excited. I had a dreadful start though and during my lunch break as I was talking to my friend on the phone, he approached me from nowhere and started smoking next to me. I was put off by this but I like a bad boy:) and I liked his confidence. He asked for my number and said yes.
I missed his calls initially but when we eventually started talking it was like I'd known him a lifetime, we just clicked. He wanted to see but I kept delaying meeting up because I wanted to get to know him. Eventually we starting meeting up for dates and I fell really hard for him. I let him know how I feel, but he said he just wanted to be friends. I accepted this and I told him I wanted more so I had to stop seeing him and communicating with him. I concentrated on my happiness, my life, my studies- I got a great degree:), I was doing well.
Anyway to cut a long story short, on Monday 21 June 2010 having given him space and stood my ground we reconnected, he called, he practically begged me to give him a chance and I eventually agreed. Our relationship was never easy, he had been cheated on in the past and he was very insecure, he didn't trust me and this was major issue, I got several calls throughout the day, I had to give up my male friends, change how I dress, wore little or no make up. This was my first relationship I wanted to make it work. I did everything for him yet he put me down, never treated me right and I just got used to the thought of being this person I no longer recognized. I didn't want people to see my relationship as a failure so I put up with it.
Eventually I broke up with him on 9th December 2011. I doubted my decision a lot and I tried to reconcile but things didn't change so having found this website I officially sent him the NC message on Saturday 14th 2012. I have not broken NC since. I wanted to join the forum because I want to support others, learnt from my evolution and be happy. I am here to evolve and be the best me that I can be. Its time to be selfish:) I now know I deserve better. I want him to evolve to so one day he can be happy with someone else because it won't with be.
I am in no way perfect but I now realize I deserve better, I gave to much of me and go nothing in return. I deserve someone who will love and appreciate me for me:)
