My ex and I met at work in July 2007. I was with someone else at the time but we were both unhappy.
On new year 2008, we kissed, and I left my partner in February 2008 to be with my ex. We had some big holidays together, lived together, got engaged in 2010 and he was an amazing step dad to my son.
The wedding was booked for May 2012 and was costing a lot of money. We were working long hours and were scrimping on luxuries to put money aside. We had argued but I hadn't really believed there was a big problem, just put it all down to stress, it'll get better after the wedding etc. We had been trying for a child aswell and had discovered that his chances of conceiving naturally were very low, which added to his stress, and was one of the things that was bearing down on us both.
I went away for a weekend with one of his relatives recently and he contacted me when I was away to say that he was working too much and not enjoying life. When I came back we had a talk the following day and he decided that he wanted a few days away to clear his head. The next day he told me he had somewhere else to live, and he collected his stuff from the house 3 days later.
He took half of the wedding savings and immediately started seeing someone he manages at work. He has had no contact with my son, but we were texting each other regularly, with me always initiating contact and sending giant texts, some of them pretty desperate sounding. It has been 20 days since the break up and the NC message was sent today.
He has told friends that he was unhappy with the money situation and with the fact that he didn't get to go out with his mates very often, that he was about to get married but wanted to be single, not to find someone else but to be single.
That's it really, the rest of my ramblings will be better suited to my NC diary now, as my NC message was sent to him today.

Make a hole, we have another corpse on our hands! 
Now poirot's "old" dead relationship needs a proper burial, and a headstone of course!
OK get a shovel and bury the past (baggage), from here on in it's a new day.
